Statement of Faith
Christian Homeschool Fellowship Statement of Faith – Leadership Form Effective as of May 13, 2022 CHF BYLAW ARTICLE IV: DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
- We believe the Bible to be the inerrant and infallible Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life. (Exodus 24:4; Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-2; Mark 1:1, 9-11; John 1:1-18, 29)
- We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His imminent bodily return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-23; John 10:30, 38; John 12:45; Romans 1:3-4; Romans 9:5; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Ephesians 1:20; Phillipians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:13-22; Colossians 2:9; I Thessalonians 4:4-18; 1 Peter 2:21-25; Revelation 1:5-8, 13-16)
- We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin. Therefore man is lost, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone can be saved. (Genesis 1:26-30; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 2:18-22; Isaiah 6:5; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 1:19-32; Colossians 1:21-22)
- We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace. Salvation is received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose substitutionary death on the cross paid the penalty for man’s sin. (John 1:11-13; 3:3-21,36; Romans 1:16-18, 4:6-11; Ephesians 2:8-9)
- We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict men, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower believers for godly living and service. (Psalm 51:11; Isaiah 61:1-3; Matthew 3:16; Matthew 12:28-32; Matthew 28:19; John 4:24; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Thessalonians 5:19; 2 Timothy 1:14; Hebrews 9:8; Revelation 22:17)
- We believe that the family is the basic governing, social, and spiritual unit created by God whereby children learn self-discipline, create social relationships, and develop a relationship with Jesus, the Creator and Savior. In the eyes of God, a family is comprised of either a single parent or one biologically male and one biologically female parent who are scripturally married, not merely cohabitating or in a homosexual relationship. (Genesis 1:27-30, 2:24; Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 6:7-9; Proverbs 1:8; 1 Corinthians 7:2; Ephesians 5:22-6:4; Colossians 3:20-21)
